Mobberley Riding School

Client & Visitor Information

Welcome

When You Arrive

Please be aware we are a working yard where horses and sometimes farm vehicles will be moving about. Observe the safety signs and please keep children under close supervision. We regret we do not allow customers’ dogs on the premises. Staff can be identified in their Navy uniform. Please ask for guidance if required

On arrival please park in the car park provided, go through the main gate and follow the signs to the Reception which is the brick building near the indoor school. This welcoming area has a coffee machine serving Rijio ground bean coffee, a well stocked confectionery machine, chairs, tables and a television. It is also a WiFi hotspot.

Before your first ride you will need to fill out a client registration form. This is for our records and is strictly confidential. Your attention is also drawn to the safety guidelines and rider code of conduct printed on the back. Copies of this are also on our notice board in poster form. If you leave us an e mail address on this form you can receive our regular newsletters to keep you up to date.

Shop

We have a small selection of riding items, Pony Club merchandise and gifts for sale.

Payment

We take payment by Cash, Cheque,Visa, MasterCard, Delta or Switch.

Toilets and Changing

The toilets for public use are located on the front yard near next to the tack room. The disabled toilet facility is large enough for changing.

Viewing areas

Please keep to the designated viewing areas and keep any non riding children supervised at all times. Lots of noise from the viewing areas can be very distracting for those riding and teaching and although our horses are very well behaved they are not beyond being unsettled by sudden noises and movements.

Lost Property

Please notify us immediately if you think you have left items at the riding school. You are advised to name hats and whips to identify them. We will try to find these items and will keep them in the lost property container in the gallery area. Periodically they will be disposed of.

What to Wear

Hats.
All riders must wear a current BSI standard hat. This is either a PAS015 or EN1384. For the first few lessons riders may borrow a hat from us. It is then advisable to purchase your own kite marked headwear. Please note if your hat does not comply with the current standards you will not be allowed to ride in it.

Footwear.
Riders should wear footwear with a smooth sole and small defined heel. Trainers, wedge heels, ribbed soles or wellingtons are not suitable. We have a selection of boots available to borrow for those riders not yet owning their own.

Clothing.
Please wear comfortable and flexible clothing which is neither too loose or restrictive. Shorts or cropped trousers are not suitable.

Gloves.
We recommend these are worn.

Back protectors.
Recommended for all jumping lessons. Please note we do not have them available to borrow.

Personal accident insurance.
We strongly recommend you take out your own personal accident insurance.

And finally...
We hope you will enjoy your riding here. Please let us know of any goals you may have small or large. We will always select a horse of an appropriate level for our riders, if you have not ridden before we have some very gentle and confidence giving horses for you to learn on. If you are not familiar with horses or ponies at all please be aware that they are living animals and as such riding at any level has inherent risks. As riders we choose to accept this every time we mount, however, we balance this against the fun, enjoyment and health benefits of an active outdoor sport.
