Our new Riding Club for adult riders has been a huge success during its trial period, and we will be continuing
on into 2008 and beyond!
We are a Riding Club Centre, part of British Riding Clubs which is run by the British Horse Society. There are more than
440 clubs and over 38,000 members in the BRC movement, and the new Centre Membership scheme allows adults who do not own horses to
become involved too.
The scheme gives adult riders all the advantages of British Riding Club
membership. It aims to help members improve their riding and horse care knowledge with a fun and
supportive club atmosphere. Members receive exclusive
special offers and discounts, and the BRC'S quarterly magazine Rider delivered direct to their door.
The Benefits of BRC membership include...
• Competitions and events here at Mobberley;
• Focus your lessons on your own objectives and aim for the competitions and examinations you want to do;
• Social events - quizzes, trips etc;
• Work towards BRC or BHS exams to improve your horse care and welfare knowledge.
The challenge of setting up and organizing our Riding Club has been extremely rewarding for us as instructors,
and we have lots of ideas for future development. We run weekly 2-hour sessions during the daytime on Tuesdays and Fridays,
and also on Wednesday evenings. These classes involve an hour of riding and an hour of stable management, all structured
to work through the BRC framework. As well as these regular classes we will start to run a variety of ‘one-off’ activities,
such as competitions, extra jumping lessons and polocrosse sessions, from which you can choose whatever takes your fancy.
Details of upcoming events will be available by newsletter, on the noticeboard in the office, or by email. If you haven’t
yet filled in an email address slip, they can be found
here or on the desk in Reception.
Membership forms can be obtained from Reception. Membership runs from 1st January to 31st December
each year. The annual membership fee is £25.00, to be paid directly to British Riding Clubs (renewable annually).
A reminder for this will be sent to each member.
