This year Great Britain was chosen to host the World Paradressage Championships. The competition took place during July at Hartpury
College in Gloucestershire, and was the last major competition for Para Riders before the Beijing Olympics in 2008! Because of this
the Championships had a significant role as selection trials for the Paralympics.
As some of you will know, two of our horses went to compete with the Australian Paradressage team at the Championships. Both Betty Boo and Link were excellently
behaved at their first international competition, producing some good tests. Boo and her rider Jan Pike took 5th place on the first and second days, and 6th on the third day.
Link was a late addition to the Australian team, but he and his rider Grace did very well, coming 11th in a strong class. Both horses were unfazed by the international arena at
Hartpury, not to mention the atrocious weather which meant that food had to be airlifted into the complex!
Sarah managed to get down to see our horses compete and was very proud of them. They have been excellent ambassadors for MRS, and helped the Australian team into
eighth place overall, a great feat for one of only a few teams to be competing on borrowed and unknown horses!
