On Tuesday 25th March our polocrosse team took part in their first real tournament against teams from
Coachman’s Riding Stables and Ruthin Riding Centre.
The competition was held at the Welsh College of Horticulture in Northop, and consisted of a series of games
which were played in two six-minute chukkas. Our team was made up of Jamie Duffill and Harry playing number 1,
Amy Galvin and Spice playing number 2, and Lydia Boyle-Chambers and Des playing number 3.
Five teams took part in the tournament, with all teams playing each other. We managed to score several goals,
and as this was our first time playing a real match we were very pleased to come fourth overall, with Jamie
being named Best Player for our team.
Many thanks to Barry Amor and Coachman’s Riding Stables for organising the competition and helping with our training.
We thoroughly enjoyed our day out, and Coachmans were great hosts for our first competition away from home.
We can’t wait for the next one!
Anna and Sarah would like to say a big thank you to everybody who helped out at home, especially the Pony Club parents who
not only did a great deal of ferrying around and horse holding, but also took some fab photos. Well done to our team, as a
lot of time and effort went into the practises, and we were very proud of ponies and riders!
