We were blessed with marvellous weather for the Rose Queen this year. The festival in Mobberley village had been moved back
a week for 2007, and as luck would have it the sun shone for us all day.
Our theme for the float was 'Disney'. The children on the float dressed up as various Disney characters, including Mickey and Minnie Mouse,
Aladdin, Alice in Wonderland, the Little Mermaid, Belle, Snow White and Tinkerbell. They were accommpanied by two of our riding school
horses, Archie and Sporran, who wore bright blue and white plumes and ribbons. Anna rode Archie and Louise rode Sporran, both wearing
bright red waistcoats as liveried riders.
Archie is now a Rose Queen veteran. This was his third year in the parade, and he was quite at home surrounded by brass bands and bagpipes!
It was Sporran's first year, but he behaved like a pro and was completely unfazed by the noisy goings-on! The procession was led by Pam this year, riding Sarah's horse Betty Boo.
Like Sporran, this was Boo's first year as well, and she stepped out keenly as she took the parade through Mobberley village.
We came second again in the Best Dressed float competition, and our bucket carriers collected lots of money! Many thanks to everybody
who helped us this year, both in making the float and on the day with the horses and keeping us hydrated! Anna and Louise would especially
like to thank everyone who kindly bought them drinks during the long wait for the parade to begin!
